Founded on October 5, 1960 and chartered in March 18, 1961,

the Delta Omega Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. was established as the first African American organization at the University of Missouri-Columbia and the first NPHC (National Pan-Hellenic Council) organization on campus.
